New Denver/Sandon - Galena Trail

13 Km

The trail follows a section of the old Canadian Pacific Railway. It can be accessed from Rosebery Loop Road, Denver Siding Road in New Denver and Sandon Road at Three Forks.

The popular Galena Trail is a designated non-motorized greenway and features natural wonders, rock slides, steep drop-offs and a wonderful attraction – a cable car to cross Carpenter Creek.

Hook your bike onto the small cable car located at the old Alamo mine site and enjoy the fun ride across the water. You can also see the remains of the old mine’s concentrator. Uphill from here, a derelict house still stands.

Sandon is a heritage ghost town – once the official capital of the mining region known as the Silvery Slocan. Attractions at Sandon include the original city hall, historic homes, museum and steam train.
