E&N Rail Trail - Humpback Connector

13.5 Km

This newly constructed cycling and pedestrian trail lies largely within the original ‘Esquimalt & Nanaimo’ rail corridor, which was constructed in the late 19th century to facilitate the transport of coal from mining towns to deep water ports. This trail system now provides an important non-motorized and recreation link between Victoria and the West Shore. The E&N Rail Trail offers connections to the Galloping Goose Trail, Lochside Trail, and Sooke Wilderness Trail, which connects to the Cowichan Valley to the north.

Suggested Day Trip

Begin at Portage Park in View Royal, which is adjacent to the E&N Rail Trail. The trail connects to the Galloping Goose at Atkins Rd. The E&N and Goose trails are co-located for 2kms. Continue along the Galloping Goose to numerous regional parks en route.
