Cranbrook - Chief Isadore Trail

43.5 Km

This popular trail is well marked and offers picnic areas, breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains and old rock ovens. It has a packed gravel surface, which is half on old Rail Grade and half new trail. A 17 km ‘Mayook Trail’ section is the new trail with an enhanced single track.

At the Rampart Rest Area – there’s a family favourite cycling or hiking loop which begins and ends at the Rest Area (6.5 km).

Mountain bikers (intermediate level) will enjoy the Mayook Trail – It’s a fun ride along the lower flanks of Mount Baker on a 1.3-metre wide gravel trail. Elevation gain is 200 metres on well-made switchbacks and gradual grades.

The Chief Isadore Trail is a public recreation trail with active forest, range and grasslands. You may encounter livestock (May to October) and/or wildlife year-round.
